After I’ve been here for about a month, I can tell you that I really like it here! :)
The biggest differences might be the school system and the climate.
In Sweden we have longer classes, about 75-90 minutes. Our schedule is also different. Here we have a schedule over a day, but in Sweden we have a schedule over a week instead. We also have longer breaks. Sometimes five minutes, sometimes forty-five or even longer.
The falls in Sweden starts in September and it’s cold (about 60 fahrenheit) and rainy. I really enjoyed that the heat here stayed longer that I’m used to. The winter in Sweden is almost like what I’ve heard about how the winter is here, so I’m glad that I’m used to the cold and all the snow, haha!
I’ve enjoyed my first time here. Of course it was a lot of new things, like football. For me that comes from Europe football is soccer, “american football” isn’t that common. It’s totally new for me but I really like to watch it. Maybe because the HBC football guys have the best football team?! Probably.
Before I’ve just played volleyball for fun and when I came here I joined the volleyball team. It’s really fun and I really appreciate all the support and help from the other girls. / Lisa
Since this is my last week of school here, I just wanted to say thank you to everybody in this school. You let me experience how it is to be a student in America and you answered all the many questions I had. I really enjoyed beeing here and I know I am going to miss a lot of things that I got to know at this school. I hope I am going to get the chance to come visit you some time soon!
Thanks for everything you have done for me during my exchange year and have a merry christmas!
